Volunteer FAQs
Q: Are there age limits on who can volunteer at Second Harvest?
A: No, but persons under 16 years of age must have supervision from a parent or guardian.
Q: Will my hours count for community service, required hours for school, or other programs? Can you sign/fill out my form?
A: Absolutely.
Q: I am unable to work in a warehouse environment, not comfortable answering phones, and/or not experienced with using computers for office tasks. Do you have anything I can help with?
A: Second Harvest always has a wide variety of tasks and projects and should have plenty of meaningful work to suit just about any special needs.
Q: How do I get to your warehouse?
A: Directions are available at http://www.fightinghunger.org/About-Us/Directions-Map
Q: Are you hiring?
A: We are always accepting applications and are proud to say that several of our staff members started off as volunteers. Check out our website’s employment section and fill out one of our employment applications when you come in to volunteer.
Q: When I come in to volunteer, can I bring food or monetary donations?
A: This is our favorite question. Yes of course! We are a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit and will have a receipt ready for your tax purposes.
