Scouting for Food

The Boy Scouts of America sponsor the annual “Scouting for Food” food drive event. Boy Scout troops throughout our area distribute plastic grocery bags in their local neighborhoods to collect food donations. Community members show overwhelming support for this event by generously donating food. Through the 2011 Scouting for Food event the Boy Scouts of America were able to collect more than 9,793 pounds of food, which they donated to America’s Second Harvest of the Big Bend.

Bags will be placed in neighborhoods throughout Tallahassee. Because Scouts only target neighborhoods near their pack, not every house will receive a bag. If you don't recieve a bag and would still like to donate, you can bring your bag of food to our warehouse on Saturday, February 4, 2012 between 9a.m.-Noon. Monetary donations can also be made online by clicking the red "DONATE" button at the top of this screen.
