BackPack Program
Provides 350 bags of food every weekend during the school year to children through the four sites in Leon and Gadsden Counties. The children in this program rely on school lunches for their food consumption, and often go hungry over the weekend, returning to school distracted and not at their full potential. Through this program, at-risk children are given a "back pack" of food each Friday to ensure their nutritional needs are met over the weekend. No federal funding exist for this program, therefore, the number of children we are able to serve each school year is dependent on how much money we are able to raise. The cost for one child for an entire school year is only $120.
